"Phobia"

Do you have phobias? I don't mean the bug kind or the afraid of heights kind. I mean the fabric kind. Are you afraid of floral prints or stripes? Maybe it's animal prints? For me it's "pink fabric". Now I'm not saying pink is bad. In fact I think it's a very nice color for someone else. I rarely buy pink. I'm not afraid to use it but I just don't like it. Now I have a few friends that think this is a funny thing and they go out of their way to buy me pink fabric (thanks SZ). In fact I had so much pink fabric I had to do something with it. So I made this little quilt. It's call patches on point. It turned out kind of cute. I made it back in 2007 and gave it away as a baby gift.
So tell me do you have a phobia? Go check your stash do you have all the colors in a crayon box? Are you missing floral prints -- animal prints-- stripes? Go ahead you can tell it will make you feel better if you face your fears.

Hope you have a great day. :o}

Browns would be my missing color, althought you wouldn't know that by the last few projects I have worked on. But that's the last color that I have purchased because I didn't have much of it.

I love that quilt. Pink is my favorite color. I would be missing browns and greens. Can't do it for some reason. My real phobia - flannel. Home Ec teacher in junior high ruined it for me.

Animal prints. It's not that I don't like them, I just would never wear them, or use them in my house. Don't know why.

The thing I have LOTS of is blue thread. Don't know why, but I do. I sort my thread in those plastic compartmentalized boxes, and when I first did it, I thought: "Oh, I'll probably need two boxes". Well, I had to go back and buy 5 more... most have 1 color in them, 1 has orange/yellow/brown (surprised I don't have more brown; I love brown), but 2 have nothing but blue, and I need another 1! Didn't know there were that many shades of blue...

I just recently sorted my scrap box and made a color wheel with it and found that I don't have hardly any purple, violet, lavender of any shade. This was a surprise to me. I am not a fan of purples, but it is a great color for flowers which I love. This was a good post, very interesting to take inventory! You can learn a lot about yourself and your habits.
