Happy Thanksgiving

I hope everyone had a great day today. We had fun today -- did something a little different, we started the day doing a Turkey Trot. This was a 4 mile run/walk to benefit the Portland Zoo. (no I didn't run, I did the walk) The weather man said it would be dry in the morning and rain in the afternoon. Great it will be nice when we walk. right! :o{ it rained but we had a fun time anyway.

What made it more fun was that Sheri came along and did the walk with me. :o}

This is part of the crew. Mr. B he did the run and then the awesome kid did the walk but of course it wasn't cool to walk with two women so he walked ahead. (Russ [he did the run] is taking the picture that's Sheri's #1 son) :o}


Did I mentioned it rained! :o{

By the time we made the half way mark we were soaked, so I took my gloves and hood off and just went for it. It's a good thing it wasn't too cold, just right for a walk.

This is the finish line. YEA! We made it in 1 hour 20 minutes not too bad.

After the run we went home got warm and dry. then set the table for family to come for dinner. We had 14 people for dinner. After dinner some visited -- while others did the wii.

Busy Working on projects

I wanted to show you some of the fun projects I've been making to put out on my Etsy store Quilts n Quilt Things.



This is an Art to Heart pattern and you can find it in the book I Believe. I made three of these, this one I planned to hang in the office until I found the Advent tree. I think I can still find a place for it. I made two for my etsy store. (I'm happy to say one has been sold.)



This is an Art to Heart pattern as well. However I changed it a little.



This Mother and Child wall hanging was design by Connie Kauffman. I enlarged it a little and then made three to put out on my store (I'm happy to say I have sold one.)

Now I'm off to work on a couple of fun projects.

Cross Country Chrismas

Last week the Cross Country Christmas blog hop started. 12 designers got together to offer some fun give aways and fun Christmas projects to make. I have made 2 of the 7 offered so far.

This was from Gudrun's blog. This was a fun and quick project I made it in one night. One of her suggestions was to hang candies from the buttons for an Advent calendar. I liked the idea so I made this one up and I think I will hang it up in the office. (I'm not sure?? -- I work for a dentist so what do you think candy in a dentist office ?? ;o] ) I picked up a copy of the Fons and Porter magazine and on the front cover it has a cute table quilt, as it turns out it's another Gudrun pattern I'm not sure if I will have time to make it up before Christmas but it's definitely one I want to make. :o}

The next project was just as quick and fun to make...


This came from Sandy Gervais' blog. Sandy made hers with wool. I don't have wool on hand so I made my with fabric and machine applique the Christmas ball. I think it turned out cute.
