Eagle Quilt

Last year my awesome son earned his eagle for "boy Scouts". Soon after that "scout fabric" started showing up everywhere. I picked up a few pieces and asked my son if he would like a quilt. (like the kid needs another quilt -- he only has 7) At first he said no, but wanted a pair of boxer shorts made from the fabric. ;o} Undaunted I started to look for ideas and patterns for a quilt. I found two patterns I liked, but couldn't decide so I took the elements I liked from each and came up with me own. When I got the top done I let my awesome son take a look and he gave his approval. In fact every person that came to the house had to take a look at his quilt. (so I guess he really wanted one after all). OK, so I finally had time to take it to the longarm and quilt it up. And it turned out great.

This is what I came up with...

There are 30 appliqued stars and 30 appliqued fleur-de-lis.
The stars took about 4 minutes each and
the fleur took about 7 minutes each.

When put the quilt up to take a picture, Tyler wanted to be in the picture and this is what he finally did to get in the picture.... :o]

It's all good...

Hope you have a great day.... :o}

Just a side note this is me 100th post. I can't believe I had that much to say and show everyone. It's been fun. August will be my one year anniversary. :o} So of course there will be a give away coming. Thanks for checking on me and keep coming back.

Congrats on the 100th post, a great accomplishment. I really like this eagle scout quilt. I have two boys and will one day be making a couple of these myself.
