Little Purple Panies

When I was a little girl we would go and visit my grand parents who lived in Oakley Idaho. My grandmother would always have pansies growing in her flower beds. And she would sing this children's song to us.

Little purple pansies touched with yellow gold,
Growing in one corner of the garden old;
We are very tiny but must try, try, try
Just one spot to gladen you and I.

I found this book called "Quick Watercolor Quilts" by Diana Pappas. The technique was fast and easy to do. So I made a pansy wall quilt to remind me of my grandmother.

Another thing I enjoy at springtime are the birds singing. When I go out and feed the outside cats @ 5 a.m. the birds are so loud it almost knocks you over. It makes you happy to hear their song in the morning. There is a children's song called In the Leafy Treetops. I love it.

In the leafy treetops, the birds sing "Good Morning"
They're first to see the sun.
They must tell everyone.
In the leafy treetops, the birds sing "Good Morning"

I have enjoyed this "spring" with all it's beauty.

Hope you have a great day. :o}
